Adopt a one-of-a-kind dahlia that has never bloomed before and help name this new dahlia variety!!

Because dahlias have such a diverse genetic makeup, every single dahlia grown from a seed will be truly unique. No two blooms will ever be exactly the same. They are the snowflakes of the flower field.

You are adopting one of this year's dahlia seedlings, becoming a part of its journey at Cassell Hollow Farm (and beyond). You will receive photos of your adopted bloom and if you are local, you can come pick the blooms at anytime.

The best part? You get to name this new dahlia variety - if it is selected to continue in our lineup, the name you choose for it will live on through any and all official American Dahlia Society classifications. You will truly always be a part of this dahlia's origin.

We are searching for very specific traits to add to our CHF name varieties, so even beautiful blooms may not be chosen to move on and in that case, you can decide to obtain this year's tubers and grow it on forever in your own garden.

🌿 WHAT AM I ADOPTING?

You are adopting one dahlia seedling from my field for the current growing season.

This plant has never bloomed before. It is not a named variety and has no photo because it has not revealed itself yet.

Dahlias grown from seed are genetically unique, which means your plant will be completely one of a kind.

🌸 WHAT HAPPENS AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

Each seedling is evaluated for future breeding and potential inclusion in the Cassell Hollow Farm dahlia collection.

If your dahlia is selected, you will get to name the variety and be part of its origin story.

If your dahlia is not selected, you can take home the tubers and continue growing it year after year.

📦 CAN MY TUBERS BE SHIPPED?

Yes.

If your dahlia is not selected for breeding, tubers can be shipped after the season ends.

Shipping will follow fall digging and storage timing.

🌼 CAN I CUT FLOWERS FROM MY PLANT?

If you are local, yes.

You are welcome to visit and cut blooms from your adopted dahlia during the growing season.

🖼 WHAT IS THE PRESSED FLOWER ADD ON?

You can choose to have your bloom professionally pressed and preserved.

This creates a lasting keepsake you can frame or gift, whether you are local or not.

📅 WHEN WILL MY DAHLIA BLOOM?

Most seedlings begin blooming mid to late summer, depending on weather and growing conditions.

Photos will be sent as soon as your plant flowers.

This is a surprise bloom. Color and form cannot be predicted.

Each adoption is for one plant.

Not all seedlings will be kept for breeding.
